We recently explained how some players were able to work their way up the ranks without the need for any Kim Kardashian game cheats, although this would have no doubt taken a huge sum of money to get that far in the game. We should not be surprised by this tactic seeing as though other apps use in-app purchases.
Kim Kardashian App Store reviews seem rather positive for a game that could see people spending more than they should in order to progress. We know how competitive teenage girls get, and so this could lead to some of them running up a larger bill than expected.
However, it is not until you start to dig through Twitter that you get the real story, as it would seem there is a problem with the spending habits on the Kim Kardashian app. It is hard for myself to offer an unbiased point-of-view seeing as though I have never made an in-app purchase, although someone close to me has spent more than a £1,000 to get further in Forge of Empires. Even one of our colleagues has spent some time with this game and has given it a review, and it is clear it does not take too long before frustration sets in.

People have been wondering how you can spend so much within the Kim Kardashian app, and so one of the tweets above will help to explain just how, there was even one player considering spending money just to get their health back. This really does show the addiction side of such apps, although the person doing the spending has to take some of the responsibility.

Have you managed to get further in the app without feeling the need to spend, or have you spent more than you should to get to that certain level?
This app is expected to earn Kim Kardashian around $100 million just for allowing the developers to use her image. Forbes has come up with an intriguing article that looks at what has made this app so successful, while Business Insider looks at how the app can take over people’s lives and so can force them to uninstall it instead.
