Killzone: Shadow Fall in 400% price reduction error

From time to time mistakes are made and products are sold online at mispriced or heavily discounted rates. Killzone: Shadow Fall has been involved in a 400% price reduction error, with some lucky shoppers managing to pick up the PS4 title for 85p in the UK PlayStation Store!

The Killzone: Shadow Fall Mercenary Playercard Icon Pack, which comes with a digitally downloadable version of the game was priced incorrectly at the equivalent of just over $1. Ubergizmo reports that this pricing error was first dicovered in the UK, allowed shoppers to buy the pack for a ridiculously cheap price. It is not know yet if this happened in other regions, get in touch if discovered and took advantage of the deal.

Sony has already latched onto the error so consider this before dashing onto your console to get a slice of this fractionally priced action. Anyone who now tries to buy the Mercenary Playercard Icon Pack will be greeted with an error message telling them know they are not eligible to purchase the item. The big question is whether Sony will honor the price on players who got away with it.

It is not known how many people downloaded the Killzone pack and digital game for 85p, but Sony may have grounds to remove the items from their account and refund their money. This would be very harsh and create a negative PR storm, Sony has been known for gestures of goodwill in the past and they would be hugely credited for owning up to their mistake and allowing players this incredible deal.

We will no doubt hear from Sony soon on their decision about this incident, do you feel that they will honor the original price? On the other hand if they pull the download from player’s accounts what message will this send, will you stage a Sony boycott?
