Killzone Shadow Fall graphics highlight Sony PS4 potential

If you consider yourself to be a fan of the Killzone franchise, then it looks like next-generation PS4 adopters are going to be for a very special treat when the system launches at the end of the year. Guerilla took to the stage at Sony’s recent New York event to unveil Killzone: Shadow Fall, the next-generation entry in the series and a fantastic-looking game to add as well.

It’s fair to say that Sony need some ground-breaking titles to coincide with the launch of the next PlayStation console and it looks like Killzone: Shadow Fall is going to cement its place as one of the PS4 launch titles that owners simply have to pick up. The game already looks incredible on the first showing and we’re pleased to say that we now have the gameplay video from the event to show you how the game looks yourself.

Notice the stunning level of detail in the futuristic metropolis environment in the backdrop, seemingly distracting the viewer from the story action that is taking place in front of you. One thing that really pleased us during the demo is that we see some actual gameplay as well, not just cutscene footage which Guerilla were probably well within their right to give us.

Look out for the frantic gun fight when the Helghast arrive, and just like other games in the series it looks like the same level of violence and CQC kills have been maintained, which is obviously great. The best part of the clip has undoubtedly been saved till last though, when we see the main character hanging on for dear life suspended on a rope that is attached to an enemy Helghast aircraft that is flying through the ravaged city.

If this is a sign of things to come on the PS4, then consider us very impressed at this point. Obviously the game is far from complete yet so it will be interesting to find out some more detailed information about what other changes have been made from Killzone 3.

Does this look like a day one purchase for you already, or are you going to wait to see other PS4 launch titles? Not bad for a debut trailer though we think. Give us your initial impressions on Killzone Shadow Fall.
