Killer Instinct gameplay: Microsoft VP Vs Jimmy Fallon

Killer Instinct is set to be one of the highlights of Xbox One, with the classic fighter being remade in time for a release as an Xbox One launch title this November. You may have seen the game in action at E3, but now we have some amusing new gameplay for you to check out – a quick match up between talk show host Jimmy Fallon and Microsoft’s Vice President Phil Spencer.

Phil Spencer turned up on Jimmy Fallon’s Late Show as part of a special gaming week which will also see the likes of Sony, Nintendo and Ubisoft appear on future episodes. Spencer brought the new look Killer Instinct with him, as well as Forza 5 all running live on the Xbox One hardware.

The gameplay itself is actually quite amusing. You may have thought that a Vice President of Microsoft Studios would have had the opportunity for an early preview of Killer Instinct before anyone else, or at the very least – know some basic combos. Instead, what you’ll see is Jimmy Fallon deploying some classic button mashing techniques with Saberwulf, actually performing some juicy looking combos to the amused audience.

Spencer admits during play that he ‘got schooled’, while Fallon’s concentration face whilst playing is priceless. It isn’t exactly the advertisement that Jago would have wanted, but nevertheless good fun and a fresh look at the game. Don’t forget that Killer Instinct is going free to play, and will also be supported by a Season Pass.

Jago will be offered free of charge, but all other characters will be locked away for a fee, unless you picked up the Season Pass which has yet to be priced. Check out the video above and let us know your thoughts on another victory for the classic button masher. The same clip also features some lovely gameplay from Forza 5 on the streets of Prague.
