Kids fitness can now be tracked with LeapBand, a little gadget that offers games and a way to make keeping fit fun as well as productive. LeapFrog is the brand behind this new fitness tracker for children, and they claim it is the “only activity tracker” that’s designed “just for kids”. They choose their words carefully, thanks to this highly debated area with children and keeping fit, so you can see LeapFrog use words like “encourages” when talking about how LeapBand helps kids with healthy habits and active play.
Personally, we love the LeapBand by LeapFrog. The reasoning is simple, too many children stay at home and don’t get outside thanks to video games and other stay-at-home entertainment. This means children are most likely less active thanks to technology, so seeing devices like the LeapBand encourage a mix of gaming with keeping on the move can only be a good thing.
You can see some of the LeapBand features in the image above, which reveals how kids fitness can be tracked with games, how children will earn points for every move, and a parent can even set up to 50 challenges for their children.
What do you think about the LeapBand and also the idea of tracking fitness of children?
The LeapBand price is said to be around $40 in the United States, UK pricing not clear at the time of writing, and the little device has a release date window of August.
