Keystone MY 2015 Laredo and Jayco trailers recall reminder

The NHTSA has been on its Facebook page to remind owners of certain Keystone MY 2015 Laredo and Jayco MY 2015 Eagle trailers that there is still a recall for them. They presume that some owners have busy lives and so have been unable to respond, but considering how serious these issues are, they should now take action.

The Keystone RV Company issued a recall that started last month for some of its 2015 model trailers, which were manufactured from July 7 to October 14th 2014. There is a possibility that a circuit breaker could rub against the propane cylinder causing a short resulting in an explosion.

You can understand why the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is so keen to get the message out there to all of those that own one of the affected models. The thing is, Keystone has already notified owners, so all they have to do is arrange for a time when the company can relocate the breaker so that it is not near the propane tank.

More details can be found on the NHTSA website.

Jayco MY 2015 trailer

Jayco, Inc. issued a recall warning for several of its 2015 Eagle trailers, models of which are the HT, FW, P1, PN, PP, PR, PW, PX, PY and PZ. Those affected models were manufactured from August 20, 2014 to October 27, 2014.

The reason for these recalls is due to the cargo carrying capacity label having the incorrect weight calculations on them, which could mean you have overloaded your trailer.

If the trailer is overloaded this could lead to tires being unable to handle the increased weight, to the trailer becoming unstable. If you have been notified, then we ask you arrange for a new certification label to be placed on your trailer because at the moment it does not comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard.

More information on this can be found on NHTSA.
