Just Dance and Zumba Fitness rise in post Xmas health drive

We recently told you that the FIFA 12 game had topped the multiformat charts for last year, and now the likes of Just Dance and Zumba Fitness rise in the charts as part of a post Xmas health drive by many consumers.

It will be easy looking at the latest UK gaming charts to realize what time of year it is, as dancing and fitness titles are dominating sales. It will also surprise many that the Nintendo Wii is taking up the entire top three, but FIFA 12 is still dominating the multiformat charts according to Metro.

For the fourth week in a row the annual FIFA title topped the chart, but the post Christmas charts always stagnate without any big releases. FIFA 12 sales did drop by 54 percent with Just Dance moving up to number two in the multiformat chart because sales only dropped 21 percent.

Only one title actually saw an increase in sales, which was Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2012 by Ubisoft for the Microsoft Kinect. This saw an incredible 173 percent rise in sales mainly down to new in-store promotions, but still only finished at number twelve in the multiformat chart though.

January 27th will see the first major release of 2012 with Resident Evil Revelations, which is followed by a busy February. This will bring the likes of SoulCalibur V, Final Fantasy XIII-2, and Metal Gear Solid HD Collection among others.

For the individual chart Just Dance 3 on the Wii came in at number one, with Zumba Fitness at number two, and Zumba Fitness 2 at number three and all on the Nintendo Wii. Have you recently purchased a Just Dance or Zumba Fitness title to lose some weight?
