Jailbreak 4.1 on iPhone 3GS: GreenPois0n not needed?

We have some good news for those of you who are still disappointed that GreenPois0n won’t support the iPhone 3G and 3GS, as it has been reported that a brand new jailbreak is currently in the works.

As reported from iPhoneDownloadBlog, MuscleNerd, a member of the iPhone Dev Team sent a message on Twitter when asked if GreenPois0n would be able to jailbreak the iPhone 3GS or not:

”SHAtter doesn’t apply to iPhone3GS (or iPod touch 3G). New owners of those should wait for future @comex JB”

If you didn’t know, Comex is another member of the iPhone Dev-Team so that is definitely something to look forward to after GreenPois0n is released this Sunday.

As far as we know, this new jailbreak will only apply to the iPhone 3GS, since you can already jailbreak the iPhone 3G on iOS 4.1 using Sn0wbreeze. It is worth pointing out tho, that there isn’t an estimated time for the new jailbreak, so don’t expect it to release straight after GreenPois0n.

We’ll keep you updated when we hear more on this. If you have an iPhone 3GS, let us know your thoughts on this.
