Jaguar XKR-S GT vs. F-Type performance figures

The release of the Jaguar XKR-S GT has been known for a while now, although some of the finer details had been missing from the initial reports. We had assumed that there were to be 30 examples of this extreme model, but now that number has been reduced to 10, which will make the Jaguar XKR-S GT even more desirable.

We can now tell you that the Jaguar XKR-S GT release date will be in October, and will give potential buyers a bit of a dilemma, because they have the choice to own a sexy, sleek looking F-Type, or go for the extreme XKR-S GT instead?

There will be a few factors that need to be considered, one of which will be the Jaguar XKR-S GT price, as this model is to cost £135,000, while the price of the F-Type starts at £79,985. The next thing you will need to do is look at the performance of these side-by-side.

Before we get going, we would just like to say this comparison is a bit of fun, because one model is solely a track day car, whereas the other is to have fun on the open road, although we cannot help notice how close these are in terms of performance.

Jaguar XKR-S GT vs. F-Type performance figures 2

Jaguar XKR-S GT vs. F-Type performance figures — The former comes packing a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine producing 542 horsepower, a 0-60mph time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 186mph. However, the biggest achievement is its lap time around the famous Nürburgring, seven minutes, 40 seconds.

Compare this to the 5.0 Litre V8 supercharged engine of the F-Type V8 model, which produces 495 horsepower. 0-60 mph comes in 4,3 seconds and can reach a top speed of 186 mph as well. It is clear that the top speeds are the same, although the Jaguar XKR-S GT performance is slightly better, making it an ideal track car.
