Jaguar XE MPG implies great fuel economy

We do love it how the auto industry is very different to that of the mobile industry, and Jaguar is a fine example. The company has been treating us to information on its upcoming XE model at a slow, yet steady pace, which is the polar opposite to the likes of Apple. The latest report is in regard to the Jaguar XE MPG figure, as it implies great fuel economy.

The biggest rivals for this new model will be the BMW 3-Series and the Audi A4, and if the Jaguar XE fuel economy figure of 75 MPG is correct, then the two German car makers have something to worry about.

Jaguar has yet to share the technical details on how they were able to come up with this figure, and what technology is used to make it possible, but we don’t expect they will lie about something like this.

The Jaguar XE powertrain is still unknown to us, although we do know that 75 percent of the vehicle is made from aluminum, which seems to be growing in popularity. Having said that, it is not exactly a popular one with Ford F-150 lovers, as many of them seem to hate the thought of the 2015 model being made mostly of aluminum.

With the chassis and body being made up mostly of this lighter material this helps to increase fuel-efficiency, although there has to be other things at play in order to achieve 75 miles per gallon. However, we do know that the XE will make use of the new Ingenium engines from Jaguar, and so we suspect they will produce a decent amount of power while not burning as much fuel as other engines in its class.
