Jaguar F-type R coupe vs. Porsche 911 Turbo S ambitious shootout

If there was one way to make the Jaguar F-type R feel and handle better, it was by putting a roof on it, although there are a couple of other possible updates that will help as well. The addition of a roof has been very positive and so the Jaguar F-type R coupe has become a worthy contender to the Porsche 911 Turbo S.

We’ve yet to see these two vehicles go head-to-head on a racetrack, but there’s an interesting article that looks into a Jaguar F-type R coupe vs. Porsche 911 Turbo S showdown, and it is clear that this is an ambitious shootout.

Some people would say putting these two vehicle together is foolish seeing as though the 911 Turbo S is an awe-inspiring car, and we can see why they would say such a thing. However, the above article is surprised at just how well the F-type R coupe can hold its own against such an impressive car.

The reason for this is because closing up the roof has made the F-Type a whole new beast, although the R version with its 542 horsepower has something to do with it as well. Okay, it might not be able to out handle the 911 Turbo S on the tight bends, and with the price kept to a minimum it all seems like a recipe for success.

Weather or not this is enough to take on the might of Porsche is still up for debate, although you can read the review in the link above to get on person’s perspective.
