Jaguar C-X17 vs. Lexus LF-NX in visual face-off

With all motor shows there are always a bevy of concept cars to look at, and the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show has not let us down. Even before the event we had a look at what to expect and a day before the event Jaguar showed their hand with the C-X17.

With several new concept cars being shown it is always hard at which of these will compete with each other once they make it to market, and how close they will look in terms of the final production version?

Jaguar C-X17 vs. Lexus LF-NX — These are the two vehicles we believe will compete with each other the most if and when they go into production. Lexus has a head start in the crossover market because they are already doing it, but it is a different story for Jaguar, but that will not hold them back.

Looking at these two we have to say the Jaguar C-X17 appeals to us more than the Lexus LF-NX. The reason for this is because the former does not go over the top in terms of design, although we are a little concerned because it does look like a Volvo at the front.

The Lexus LF-NX concept is nice from the side, but the front is comical

However, we would rather that than the over styled Lexus LF-NX, and while from a side view it looks like a sensibly designed crossover, it’s when you get to the front that it all goes wrong. If you look at the video you will see just what we mean, but to give you a hint it looks like a Humpback whale feeding on krill.

We cannot understand why this vehicle has been drawing in huge crowds because the styling is hideous, but comments suggesting this is the ugliest car at the show could be a little over the top.

Would you rather see the Jaguar C-X17 or Lexus LF-NX enter production?
