If you are enjoying OS X 10.10 Yosemite, then you would have noticed that iTunes was updated as well, which is something we have come to expect from Apple year-on-year. However, if you prefer to hang it out until the first Yosemite update to resolve the bug issues, you can always downloads iTunes 12.0.1 while running Mavericks, but what has changed?
iTunes 12.0.1 update release notes – The latest version of iTunes brings with it various improvements designed to speed up its overall performance, as well as resolving a few bug issues, and a cleaner look reminiscent of iOS 7, although there are also Yosemite design elements.
One feature that is part of iOS 8 and Yosemite is Family Share, and this has now become a feature within the latest version of iTunes, allowing you to share music, movies, ebooks and apps with other members of your family. However, this is limited to just 5 family members.
Other iTunes 12.0.1 features, which you can see in the image of the release notes above are dedicated icons for TV shows, movies and music, and browsing is now a seamless experience between the iTunes Store and your library.
Some people have expressed their distaste for the new design, but like everything, it just takes a bit of getting used to. However, if you are not happy you can change with how you view iTunes 12.0.1 to make it look more like the older version. What are your thoughts on the new design?
