iStick USB flash drive for iPad and iPhone

One of the things that Android users say about the iPhone and iPad is its lack of support for USB, amongst other things of course, and they do have a very good point. I have been an iPhone user since the start, along with the iPad when that first came on the scene, and not being able to use external storage such as a flash drive has always been a huge issue.

Apple seem reluctant to offer any sort of external storage options for the iPad and iPhone, and so it is left up to a Kickstarter project to giver users what they want, which is the first USB flash drive for the iPad and iPhone with built-in Lighting connector.

The iStick as it is called is currently on the Kickstarter website looking for a $100,000 of funding, and with 35 days left to go for the goal to be reached, we are happy to say $116,025 has been raised so far, and that figure keeps climbing. This is a good sign because it means a USB flash drive for these iOS devices is something people want.

What makes this product even better is that Apple has given the iStick approval, and has taken around 2 years from start to finish to get this approval.

There will be four different storage size options for the iStick, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, which will certainly make the iPad and iPhone storage options more flexible. Users will be able to stream movies direct from the USB flash drive, along with music and other files.

Since the iStick has met its funding demands we expect it to be released sometime in August at a price of $129, $169, $199 and $299 which are in respect to the sizes mentioned above. We are shocked at how expensive these are, but then again, this is the price to pay in order to improve the storage capacity of your iPad and iPhone.
