The iPhone X has only been out for a few days but we are already hearing whispers that a larger iPhone ‘XL’ release date may be coming in 2018.
As most of you know, the iPhone X comes with the new OLED technology built into the display screen which doesn’t feature on the iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus.
It is one of the many premium features that the device has, but at the same time it also has a display size of 5.8-inches that is larger than the iPhone 8 which is 4.7 inches and the iPhone 8 Plus which is 5.5-inches.
Apparently though, Apple are planning to go even bigger according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo at KGI Securities who says that in 2018 Apple will offer not one but two new iPhone X smartphones.
One will be akin to the current iPhone X but with updated specs, but the second will be a larger iPhone XL or ‘Plus’ to cater to those that want a display that could come in at the unbelievable 6.5-inch range.
How big is too big though? 6-inches would be the maximum already for most buyers you feel and don’t forget a larger display is going to mean an even higher price point than $999 which many consumers will be skeptical of.
Let us know your thoughts on these rumors and if you would buy a 6.5-inch iPhone XL in 2018 without any second thought.
