iPhone iOS 4: Windows Live Messenger – No Multitasking?

Later today Apple will launch iOS 4 for iPhone and iPod Touch, therefore I was quite surprised to hear that a new Windows Live Messenger app arrived at the App Store recently, especially as there is no evident support for one of iOS’s biggest features, multitasking.

According to Recombu’s recent article, the free app is quite impressive as it offers instant messaging with both Windows Live Messenger and Y! Messenger contacts, not only this but it integrates Facebook, MySpace, Flickr and Hotmail within the app.

Rather than utilizing iOS 4’s multitasking capabilities the app uses push notifications, personally I don’t understand why they didn’t delay the release of the app and develop it to fully utilize iOS 4’s capabilities.

To run the app you need to have an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad running iPhone OS 3.0 or later. If you check out the source link below you can find out more about Windows Live Messenger for iPhone, you can download the app here.
