iPhone iOS 4: How to get now

For those of you who own an iPhone 3G or 3GS, then you will already have June 15 marked in your calendar as it is the day that you will be able to download and install iOS 4.Thats a week before the launch of the new iPhone 4 — but there is a way for you to get the OS update now.

It is no secret how popular the new iPhone iOS 4 is and did not take long for the software to leak online, and according to Ian Paul from PC World, there is also a jailbreak tool. There are two things that you have to realize with this, installing this on your iPhone 3GS could lead to problems, and the fact that you need to have a developer kit.

As all dev work has to be done on a Mac, this means that anyone using a Windows computer will not be able to install iOS 4. Before you try to install the new mobile operating system on your iPhone you need to make sure that you have iTunes 9.2 beta installed on your Mac, only then will you be able to download the iOS 4 gold master build.

The next step would be to plug your iPhone into iTunes and then select it under devices, the next step is to click on the restore option and then click alt+click, and select the file name iOS 4 ipsw, and that is that.

If you have tried this, then please let us know how it went for you.
