iPhone iOS 4.1: Release Date and List of Features and Bug Fixes

Apple used today’s media event to give a full introduction to their next iPhone update, iOS 4.1. We have a release date to give you now, as well as a list of the bugs that have been fixed from iOS 4.0.2.

You’ll be pleased to know that Apple has apparently fixed the proximity sensor issues found in the current iPhone iOS, as the company states that the problem has now been removed. Other changes include fixes for Bluetooth and some issues on the iPhone 3G as well.

As for new features, you’ll be pleased to know that the Game Center announced at WWDC 2010 will finally make it’s debut within iOS 4.1. You can look forward to a full report on that shortly. Other new features include HDR photos (High Dynamic Range), TV show rentals and also support for uploading HD videos over a WiFi connection.

Best of all, iPhone iOS 4.1 will be available to download next week, free of charge. We’ll update this article when we get the exact date for you.

Let us know your initial thoughts on iOS 4.1 – are you pleased that proximity sensor issues have been fixed up?

Not sure why but I don't have problems with proximity sensor. It works perfect each time.

What about jailbreaking for iOS 4.1? Will Apple actually allow users to jailbreak their phones? It's 100% legal and it adds another audience to the iPhone's because that enables people to come up with new working programs and doesn't limit users to Apples limited developing team. Their are more ideas than what Apple has a budget for and that adds even more attraction when a phone can be more universal for users.

Well, this one would be even better if it will be compatible to other old iDevice, but I guess it would be impossible. iOS 4.1 New Impressions

I couldn’t careless about the proximity sensor, how about fixing the things they screwed up that worked BEFORE the update like the Bluetooth issues and how my 3G phone is so slow it might as well be bricked.

I agree with Steve. I love my iPhone 4 but can't tell you how irritating it is to accidentally have my face mute my call, call another person while I'm on the phone, or even end the call because my screen turned it. It's ridiculous!

Awesome – the proximity sensor is my ONLY gripe with iPhone 4 since day one.
