iPhone iOS 4.1 Jailbreak: Same exploit used on new Apple TV

When Apple TV was announced during the iPod Touch event earlier this month, we were not certain as to what version OS it would be running. However, we now have conformation that it will be iOS 4.1, which means that there is an exploit for a jailbreak.

HADI from MAGGadget has learned from the Dev-Team that the SHAtter exploit has been able to decrypt the Apple TV keys. This is certainly great news for those who are not worried about jailbreaking, and now opens up the new device for many more features.

You have to love how the Dev-Team comes across when announcing news such as this Apple TV exploit saying, “SHAtter is going to be the gift that keeps on giving.”

Engadget does point out that although this iOS 4.1 jailbreak is good news, the fact remains that the Apple TV still fails by being a 720p device. For those of you who have ordered your new Apple TV, then you will be pleased to know that they have now started to ship.
