iPhone Game Controllers: Adds little to the experience

There is no denying that the iPhone was a game changer, not only did the device combine a cell phone, miniature computer and iPod into one, but also offered an alternative to the Sony PSP and the Nintendo DS.

The Apple iPhone does not have a large screen like dedicated portable games consoles – but it offers so much more in other areas. The graphics on the iPhone are truly amazing, but its touch screen lets the gaming experience down — as they do not get the same feel as they would with the PSP.

There is a huge choice of game controllers for the iPhone, but they all add little to the experience – we still wait for something successful. iSmashPhone takes a closer look at why these iPhone game controllers have not fared well.

Most of the controllers that they studied are little more than chunks of plastic that it just a holder for the iPhone — all they offer is more grip. There are arguments that if Apple wants the iPhone to compete with the likes of the PSP or the DS, then it will have to have buttons — not certain if Apple will ever go down that route, what do you think?
