iPhone battery life fix on route with iOS 5.0.1 update, beta released

Even though the latest iPhone was really just a bit of an upgrade over the last model, it didn’t stop millions of consumers rushing out to get hold of it. It was mainly well received but there has been a steady stream of complaints about battery life, which seems to be affecting a variety of iPhone models. Now we can tell you that an iPhone battery life fix is on route with an iOS 5.0.1 update.

The company admitted today that it has found a few problems that some iPhone owners have experienced worse than expected battery life. Apple released a statement to AllThingsD and said “We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks.”

We recently told you that apple were contacting some owners regarding the issue, and even got one to download software to monitor the problem. Complaints about the battery issue have steadily grown recently, after beginning when the iPhone 4S and iOS 5 was released.

Problems have varied to what carrier the user is on, and until now Apple hasn’t commented publically about the issue. There was a suggestion of a bug in the time zone setting with advice to switch it off. Other users have helped matters slightly by limiting notifications, but haven’t fixed the issue completely.

Apple has also begun seeding iOS 5.0.1 to developers with the beta that has battery life fixes, and also features multitasking gestures for the original iPad. There are also improvements for voice recognition for Australian users according to 9To5Mac.

I turned off the time zone automatic thingy bob and my battery has drastically improved since then. I was hundred percent this morning at 7am and now at 1.31pm I am still on at 92%. That’s alright for me.
