iPhone 6s or 7 debate for date in fall 2015

The iPhone 6s or 7 release date debate has truly started now that we are in 2015, although the new phone will almost certainly not launch until fall this year. We also start to hear rumors about the next model right after the latest Apple phone releases, which comes as both concept designs and so-called comments from insiders.

One such concept can be seen below by Martin Hajek. This considers a new design that covers the front, although you can still see the fingerprint reader, so users can use a real Touch ID button. There’s also another hole in the front for the speaker, and this technology is possible thanks to some innovations by Sharp displays.

iPhone 6s or iPhone 7 release in fall 2015 – if you haven’t purchased the iPhone 6 Plus, then you might be considering waiting until this fall for either an iPhone 6s, or redesigned 7 model. Previous patterns hint at the iPhone 6s release date being favored for late 2015, so if Apple sticks with tradition then you won’t see a radical change like within the above concept design.

Apple normally sticks with almost the same design for 2 years, and then makes either a radical or small design change. This is why some consumers aline their contract upgrades around the 2-year design refresh, and they’d expect an iPhone 7 to release in 2016 after only just upgrading.

It’s not unlike Apple to change release patterns, they did it with the iPads and moved the iPhone launch window from WWDC to a fall special event. The problem is, Apple will need a very good reason for changing either the release window or redesign timeframe.

This could only happen if something was very bad about the iPhone 6/Plus design, or if another product helped push the redesign timeframe ahead. In 2015, this can only change if you count bendy iPhone 6’s and Apple’s Watch as a big enough reason.

There’s also those that hate the current design and seeing a totally revamped version would likely make their year.

Would you like to see the iPhone 6s or 7 given a release date in fall 2015? Should we see tradition stick with a minor upgrade, or a radical redesign this year?
