We already know the date of the next Apple event, which is more than likely for the iPhone 6. The date will be in many of our diaries seeing as this is one of the biggest releases of the year in terms of mobile device, if not the biggest. Many websites see a huge spike in traffic, but Apple will not see this spike until the iPhone 6 pre-order date.
This usually creates a dilemma for current iPhone owners because they have a choice to make, either pre-order the new phone or queue up on the day to make certain they get an iPhone 6 on the day of its release.
Each year the launch seems to get bigger and bigger, although I personally decided against the iPhone 5S because it seems a pointless task to purchase a new smartphone, only to discard it after 1 year because we don’t do the same with a laptop or many other consumer electronics products.
I made the decision to never get an S version of the iPhone again because the minor improvements do not warrant such a huge price. This means I am anxiously waiting for the iPhone 6 and in previous years I have gone down both routes, so pre-ordering direct from Apple and queuing up outside my local O2 store.
However, this will have to change from now on because I have since moved to Vodafone, and seeing as though there is no local store it will have to be a pre-order on the Apple Store.
This means I will join the thousands of people on the first day waiting for the courier to turn up with my new iPhone later in September. I could go to the Apple retail store, but the nearest one is over an hour away, which is a long way to go if there is not enough stock to go around.
So tell me, what will you be doing, queuing up for the iPhone 6 or pre-ordering it the day Apple makes pre-orders live?
