iPad 6 size signaled on new iPhone date

The iPad 6 size will be signaled when the iPhone 6 launch date arrives, which could also come with a refresh for an iPad Air 2. If the iPhone 6 comes in a number of sizes, one size being a phablet, then this opens up room to increase the size of an iPad 6 to much bigger than a so-called iPhone 6 phablet.

Considering WWDC 2014 is next month, you can always count on a lot more Apple rumors around this time and this year is no different. The leaks will always be joined by concept designs, and some of the best concepts are based on the latest rumors leaking for credible sources on occasion.

One of the latest iPhone 6 concept videos can be found below this article, which landed on YouTube towards the end of last month. Titled “iPhone 6 Pro: 3D render video”, the video gained well over a 1,000 likes compared to a couple of hundreds dislikes, so it’s clear that most viewers liked what they saw. Features include a 16MP back camera, 3MP front camera, a Touch ID home button, Heart Rate Monitor, an A9 chip, and of course running on iOS 8.

Other rumors for the iPhone 6 include a camera that might use electronic optical image stabilisation and larger pixels, but exactly what sizes will take advantage of this technology is yet to be seen thanks to the consensus being we’ll see more than one size/model.

Apple iPhone 6 date to signal iPad size – one pattern has emerged in recent weeks from multiple sources, and this is the likelihood of two different sizes of iPhone 6 when the release date arrives in fall 2014. The launch event will likely stay in September, like it has been for a few years now, and if we see a new 4.5-4.7 inch iPhone 6 along with a bigger 5.5-5.7 inch version as well, then Apple has to be planning a bigger iPad.

The exact release window for a so-called iPad Pro at around 12.9-inches is up for discussion, and some analysts believe that Apple will not launch a bigger version of the iPad in 2014, but state “they are working on a 12.9-inch model”. Personally, we find it hard to believe that if Apple is planning to launch an iPhone 6 phablet in 2014, then it seems the perfect time to release a bigger iPad 6 rather than just refresh with an iPad Air 2.

One thing is for sure, with the likelihood of an iPhone 6 at up to 5.7 inches this leaves room to space out the 6th generation iPad with a much bigger model. Having a 5.5/5.7 inch iPad, 7.9 inch iPad mini, and just under 10-inch iPad is great, but Apple need to give consumers a reason to upgrade and launching a bigger size might do just that.

Would you like to see an iPhone 6 at around 5.5 inches this year? Would you also welcome a new iPad 6th-gen at around 13-inches as well?

There’s been plenty of articles focusing on Apple’s iPad this week and how the great sales have caused saturation in the tablet market, although an article on Apple Insider disagrees with a lot of these viewpoints. Their detailed article claims that Apple’s iPad business is just fine, but the others in this industry are collapsing although there clearly is a certain amount of saturation with iPad owners needing a really good reason to upgrade their current iPad. As we mentioned above, a bigger iPad could help encourage Apple fans to either purchase another 13-inch iPad or upgrade their current model.

The table below is from the linked article above and it reveals tablet shipments for Q1 2014. Take a look to understand how each brand is doing compared to their previous year.

Another iPhone 6 photo below leaked online this week revealing a dummy unit compared to Samsung’s Galaxy S5. While this gives us a good idea with each unit side-by-side, it is good to remember this is just a dummy unit and might be based on a different concept model than the one Apple finally release as an iPhone 6. We have just over 4 months to go until we find out all the juicy iPhone 6 specs and of course when the release date will be, although we believe at that time you will also have a good idea about what Apple’s planning for their iPad 6 / iPad Air 2 with another event likely to land in October, as it did in 2013.
