The iPhone 5S order problems expected by some failed to materialized after the UK Apple Store came back up, although the shipping date is a nightmare and one issue we should point out. Apple hasn’t directly commented on the reason for no pre-order or long delivery times, but it is now very evident after the UK orders went live moments ago.
You can see in the screenshot above that the UK shipping date for iPhone 5S has been set to 7-10 business days. This was the case right from the moment orders went live at 12:02am on September 20th.
Once you get to the checkout and place your iPhone 5S order things get a lot worse. As you can see in the screenshot below, the delivery estimate is now October 7th to 10th. This was shown after we placed an order for an iPhone 5S 32GB Silver and also a Space Grey model.
The reason for such a long delay is due to the new iPhone 5S not being dispatched for another 7-10 business days, and then you have to add on some time for the handsets to arrive. We touched on the fact that shipping times would slip within the last couple of hours, but it is worth noting the store came back up with a 7-10 day wait before an iPhone 5S would be shipped.
Did you get any order problems when purchasing an iPhone 5S today? In previous years we had received server issues, 404 browser errors and pages not found, but this year everything went very smooth for us and a number of Product Reviews readers (other than a very bad delivery date).
It is funny that Apple’s iPhone 5S cases take just 3 days while the phone will deliver in up to 3 weeks time.
