It has become a common occurrence to see leaked parts before a new Apple product launches, although with the iPhone 5 we’ve seen more details on upcoming features than any device before it. We might not have seen the iPhone 5 left at a bar, but the amount of videos and pictures leaking showing detailed information is hard to fathom. This has led some people to believe that this could be some sort of tactic used by Apple, which would not only create increased hype but also throw competitors off the real specifications.
As more parts and another video appears we question how so many leaks are taking place, and if this is indeed part of Apple’s marketing tactics to hide the real iPhone 5 features. You can see the latest video below showcasing what is said to be the new iPhone 5 front panel, and in this example you’ll see a 2-minute video featuring the digitizer frame parts, home button, LCD, and more.
If Apple is not using tactics to hide the real iPhone 5 features — it could be that Apple has nothing to do with the leaks happening on an almost daily basis in the lead up to the Sept 12 event, and if this is the case then what is really happening? One possibility is that these are real parts for the iPhone 5, and groups of people are working to smuggle these out of factories and Apple’s supply chain for the benefit of making money from those that are willing to pay.
We know that a few of the iPhone 5 leaks have been fake, but many of them are the real deal, so if Apple is not using some sort of tactics with a record amount of leaks this year, then it could also be that some of these parts were given to 3rd party accessory manufactures and have since been lost somehow.
Apple win whatever the real story is — when it comes to the iPhone 5 and the amount of leaks taking place, we find it hard to see how Apple cannot gain from the increased hype with each new leak. This creates buzz and in turn makes people want what they believe everyone wants, although this isn’t necessarily the case. One thing is for sure and that is if everyone is talking about the next iPhone, then more people are likely to purchase it this year.
Have you been pulled into the hype that surrounds the iPhone 5? Personally we’ve owned every iPhone since the first generation, and our choice would be made on hardware itself and the fact that we’ve invested a lot into Apple over the years, which makes it very hard not to want a device with iOS. This is also the case for a number of iPod touch and iPad owners, which have not jumped over to the iPhone yet thanks to the screen being too small. We’ve heard from a few of these people and they said “an iPhone 5 with a much bigger display would tempt them to buy“, and while the display will increase in size it might not be the 4.5 to 5-inches some people are after.
Take a look at the video below that details some rumored iPhone 5 parts, and leave a comment with your thoughts on these and possible tactics Apple might be using. From our experience you can count on some of these leaks being real, and if this is the case then the screen size will not be much bigger, which is going to disappoint a few people. We’ll be happy with the slightly longer display and higher spec hardware thanks to this being a phone after all, and an iPad mini will be better for those that want something greater than 5-inches.
