iPhone 5 launch anxiety after US, UK

If all of the iPhone 5 rumors are correct, we are just weeks away from finally seeing Tim Cook unveil the device on stage. Although still not official, Apple are seemingly holding an event on September 12, and now we may have some crucial information for when US and UK orders will actually begin.

Just like every other iPhone launch in recent years, it looks like Apple won’t be bringing a ‘surprise’ element to their event next month. Almost everybody knows what the new iPhone is going to look like, what major spec upgrades it will bring and also the fact that a smaller iPad is thought to be coming as well.

That aspect is a shame since it’s always nice to have a surprise left in store at Apple’s major events, but that doesn’t mean the excitement isn’t there, compared to previous iPhone launches. September 12 seems to be the magical unveil date, and we’ve just heard that orders for US consumers are going to start on this date as well.

A recent article by the usually reliable iMore has claimed the iPhone 5 pre-orders will begin on September 12, ready for shipment to arrive on September 21. Following on from the iPhone 4S launch pattern, it looks like US consumers are going to get their hands on the device first, along with the other selected countries of Apple’s choosing – UK are usually included in the first wave.

Meanwhile, other countries will reportedly have to wait until October 5 to get their hands on the device. That is a three week wait that we’re possibly facing for the international launch, although we’re really hoping that Apple choose to follow the new iPad launch pattern instead and release the iPhone 5 simultaneously in an extended batch of countries, which included the likes of Hong Kong and Singapore for the first time.

It’s only a matter of time before we start seeing invites handed out for Apple’s prestigious event. If you are usually part of the ‘international’ batch that has to wait longer for Apple product launches, are you hopeful that you’ll be included on the iPhone 5 rollout at the first opportunity?
