The iPhone 5 bumper case would be a favorite if it were in fact for sale right now, which is due to the way this case protects the iPhone and allows so much of the original design to shine through. The fact is Apple are not selling any iPhone 5 cases at the time of writing, and looking at the Apple online store shows a choice of cases for the iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4, and 4S but not for the latest 6th generation iPhone although this device has only just launched.
Normally we’d expect cases to be on sale by now but it seems things are a little different this year, and Apple has already confirmed that the new iPhone 5 is much better protected without a case than any iPhone before it, so where does that leave us when it comes to official Apple cases for the new iPhone 5?
We contacted UK Apple stores in relation to the iPhone 5 bumper case, and in fact about any official Apple cases for sale in an Apple Store. One associate explained to PR that “they’re not available yet, and we’re not sure if they ever will be“. We then asked if this included any 3rd party iPhone 5 cases or a non-Apple branded iPhone 5 bumper case, which the associate explained, “this is still unknown, and we haven’t heard anything through official channels“.
If you want an iPhone 5 bumper case then it seems like you’ll need to shop with a 3rd party store, for now at least, and we touched on a few options for bumpers at the start of this month. You can also find major case brands preparing their selection for the new iPhone 5 as well, which one of the best for all-round protection has to be from Otterbox.
Would you prefer Apple stores to start selling iPhone 5 cases, or don’t you care where you buy them from? When it comes to some of the best iPhone 5 cases you can certainly find them via the makers websites, which includes Otterbox, Speck, Griffin, Incase, and more. It does seem strange that Apple would never sell any cases for their latest iPhone, especially considering the amount of times we’ve bought a case in an official store, so in our opinion they will land in time at least from 3rd parties.
