iPhone 5, 5G or 4G? Expected Release Name

More and more people have been asking what the next iPhone will be called, and the smart money has to be on the iPhone 5. However, we all know how Apple seems to go against the rules and does things a little different — as they did with the 3GS; although, we cannot see a repeat of this ever again.

The reason I say this is because when Apple went from the 3G to the 3GS there was not as much competition, but things have been relentless over the past year and a half. The moment you walk into a store there is yet another new Android handset — so Apple needs to keep their game up. It is for this reason that we will not see an iPhone 4G.

Then we have the iPhone 5G; again this is likely not to happen for two reasons. The first is that they would not skip the iPhone 5 and the second is that the 4G network will not be ready for such a popular smartphone — Apple’s phone would just put too much strain on AT&T or Verizon’s LTE service.

So that just leaves the iPhone 5. This for us is the name that Apple will go with, and although we have no idea what technology will be inside — we can be sure that there will be a number of hardware enhancements. Some of these include a dual-core processor, better display and longer battery life. Do you believe that the fifth-generation iPhone is worth waiting for?
