iPhone 4G: Release Date vs. Nexus One Verizon

Yesterday was the first day of the CTIA 2010 event and we were treated to a huge range of smartphone launches, such as the HTC EVO 4G on Sprint. However, the one handset that did not get a mention was the Verizon Wireless Nexus One. If this handset is not launched soon then it will be getting closer to the release date of the rumored iPhone 4G.

The Nexus One has been available since the beginning of January direct from Google on the T-Mobile network, but Verizon were left in the dark about when they will get their hands on one.

Google need to act soon for a number of reasons, the first is the iPhone 4G, the second is from other newer Android handsets. There are still rumors that the iPhone could make its way to Verizon, if that happens, then we can say goodbye to the Nexus One.

Other Android handsets are launching all the time, it only takes a new model with say Android OS 3.0 and no one will remember the Nexus One. So this tell us on thing, Google needs to get its act together and release their first handset on Verizon, if they ever hope of seeing units shift in high numbers before the iPhone 4G is released to the public.
