iPad mini cases ready preceding announcement

If Apple has a new product about to launch then you can count on accessory makers being ready one way or another, and this comes to iPad mini cases as well. Preceding the iPhone 5 launch we did see some brands put up landing pages for accessories, although it took a few weeks before these items started to ship, but we’re not expecting the same situation with picking up an Apple iPad mini case right after the event.

Makers of Apple cases are loving these new products — it is obviously a windfall time for accessory makers considering the new iPhone 5 design, expected 7.85-inch iPad mini announcement, and the possibility of a 13-inch MacBook Pro about to release as well. We’re hearing a number of rumors surrounding the iPad mini and most recently about the smaller cases, which some vendors are explaining that manufacturing is complete and the products are ready to go to retail. This is strange and a very big risk for some accessory brands, unless they have been hands-on with the final iPad mini design so they know how to cater to the new features and size.

The accessory market is a massive business and considering the amount of new Apple products that need them alone, you can understand if these brands invest money into locating leaked parts from insiders to gain a head-start on making iPad mini cases before the event in 2 days. This popular online retailer of accessories has already published images of iPad mini cases, although they all have a “not released” tagline, so this could be just a few placeholders to gain interest before the big launch.

If you purchase an iPad mini, would you want a case right away? This is how we felt about the iPhone 5 and a bumper case, although picking one up had been a bit harder right after launch but that task has become easier now we’re a few weeks on. At the time of writing Apple has not released any official iPhone 5 cases, although it will be interesting to see what they launch at the event and if we receive an official iPad mini case on the Apple Store right away.
