You would think that when an Android based fansite shares with us its 2014 Holiday Gift Guide, it would favor Android based products, especially in the tablet category. However, users of these devices are angry at the fact the website billed the iPad Air 2 as the number one tablet to buy for Christmas.
With a huge choice of Android tablets to choose from Android Police should have gone with one of them, such as the Nexus 9, although this has not gone very well in recent reviews; we even highlighted the fact that CNET went for the iPad Air 2 out of these two tablets.
There are still some great Android tablets to choose from, although none of them seem to offer a complete package. Ok, so we know Apple’s latest tablet also falls short in key areas, but Android Police says it does tick more boxes.
The writer of the Gift Guide, David Ruddock has come under huge criticism when he gave several reasons as to why he thought the iPad Air 2 was the best tablet, even though it does not run on Android. He said that it is better than the alternatives.
What we do find funny is how over the years the writer has been right behind many Android devices, but the moment he suggests that an Apple product is better, he is labeled an Apple fan boy. At the end of the day it comes down to personal choice, and I have always gone for Apple, as it is what I am used to. I also admire there are some great Android based products currently on the market, and so I try not to be biased and make a judgement about someone based on their platform preference.
