iPad 5 key attributes are size and weight

We do find it funny when we hear people saying Apple is in trouble with their full-size iPad as the iPad mini is cannibalizing sales. Okay, so this is not great news for the company, but a least the main rival is in-house. Having said that, sales of their smaller tablet has also slowed, this could be due to several reasons, such as consumers waiting for the next-gen model or competition from rival devices, both of which are major factors.

The full-size iPad will rise again, we have no doubt of that, but changes need to be made if there is any hope of improving sales once again. However, if recent rumors of the iPad 5 key attributes are correct, then Apple could help increase tablet sales. Although, it will need to be something rather special, as we know Samsung and their other rivals have tablets that are more than a match for their devices.

Several tablets coming to the market are very light and also thin, so the iPad 5 size and weight will be key to its success, along with a few hardware upgrades. Even though the current model is not a heavyweight, the tablet would still benefit from going on a diet, as it’s not just the price why some people have shifted their attention to the iPad mini.

A recent article has been looking at how the weight of the current iPad has played a role in falling sales, as it is much heavier than the iPad 2, but this was to be expected due to improved hardware. So news that the iPad 5 could be 25 percent lighter, and 15 percent thinner should surely be welcome? We already know one way how Apple will achieve this, as there could be a change to the next-generation iPad bezel, as it will look very similar to the iPad mini.

Do you think sales of the iPad 5 will improve more because of it possibly being thinner and lighter, or the new upgrades, which could feature new A7-series CPU?
