Most people have gotten over the fact that Apple released another tablet so close to the previous generation, although we do wonder how the users would feel if this becomes a regular occurrence with an iPad 5 tablet being rumored for the first half of 2013?
Apple iPad 3 vs. iPad 4 for camera – The first video below features a comparison of the 4th and 3rd generation iPad cameras, which are basically the same but the reviewer didn’t want to take Apple’s word for it. So they got hands-on with both the iPad 4 and iPad 3 with a side-by-side camera test. Take a look at the first video and let us know if you can see any difference? It is worth noting that the iPad 3 featured a 0.3MP standard definition camera for video chatting and this compared to the new iPad 4 with a 1.2MP HD front-facing camera.
Gaming with the iPad 4 vs. iPad 3 — next we have featured a couple of videos that take a look at various apps for gaming and also include on screen frames per second in the second video during a speed test. This review points out that the iPad 4 is faster but not necessarily anything worth selling your 3rd generation iPad for. We should mentioned that once developers tap into the power of the A6X processor inside the 4th generation iPad, then we could see a lot more visually pleasing improvements with gaming apps and exactly what Apple meant when they said the A6X doubles CPU performance.
The second to last video takes a look at various areas of the iPad 4 vs iPad 3, which include speed, benchmarks, and gaming. If you want to see where the speed differences will really shine through for the 4th generation iPad, then you need to see the last video that focuses on photography.
Bottom-line: We have owned every iPad generation, including the iPad mini, although we didn’t upgrade the iPad 3 to the iPad 4. In our opinion it is not worth upgrading the iPad 3 just yet, but if you own an older iPad then you might want to consider the upgrade thanks to a massive speed difference compared to the second and first generation iPads.
