iPad 3 to come in February?

As with any Apple product there are always rumors and speculation of what the next model will bring, and also when it will be coming. Back in November we had reports that production of the next iPad had already begun. Now today we have talk that the iPad 3 release date could come in February 2012.

According to AppleInsider Citigroup have suggested the next version of the iPad will be available in just two months time. Analyst from Citigroup Richard Gardner is claiming that Apple will be ready to launch the iPad 3 during this time frame. He is claiming that sources from within in Apples supply chain have seen increased orders for iPad parts for the March quarter.

This is in readiness to the “launch of a new iPad with double the screen resolution on the current model.” Gardner is saying that several sources have confirmed the iPad 3 will be launching early next year, and also claims there are no major “technical hurdles” to delay the device being launched.

There have been previous reports that Apple were planning an iPad with a Retina display, with some suggesting that such a screen had caused delays to the device. We have reported before that Apple were reportedly looking to use a dual-LED lighting system for the next iPads display, which is to be used to overcome any brightness issues with the new display.

It has been reported that Sharp would be used to manufacturer these displays for Apple, and the tablet PC would be a slightly thicker device with the same screen size allowing existing Smart Covers to be used.
