iPad 3 brought forward to end of January 2012

While Amazon are only just getting started in the tablet market, the big player that kick started it all off Apple, still reign supreme. The iPad 2 has proved to be a major success for the company since its launch in March. This hasn’t stopped various rumors suggesting that Apple could be bring out a new version this year, but then there were manufacturing problems reported pushing it back until spring next year. Now today we have news that the iPad 3 release date may be brought forward to the end of January 2012.

Electronista are reporting that Peter Misek, an analyst from Jefferies & Co., is claiming that the launch of the iPad 3 has been sped up and will now come in late January. So far the two iPad models that Apple has launched came in early spring.

The analyst is also claiming that a rumored iPad 2 HD was cancelled by Apple, and one million units already assembled have been retooled for the current model. The claims have to be taken with the usual pinch of salt, but there have been reports before that testing on the A6 processor had already begun.

If Apple does decide to release the next iPad at the start of the year it will spell even more trouble for some of its rivals. It has been rumored before that the iPad 3 could have a Retina Display like the one found on the iPhone 4.

We reported recently that there were reports that Apple were beginning to cut back production of the iPad 2. It was claimed this was in reflection to the current financial situation affecting the world, as well as the company lowering its inventory in readiness for the new model.
