iPad 2 slower on iOS 8 beta 4 than iOS 7

Apple has already informed us that iOS 8 will be compatible with most of its iOS devices, and the iPad 2 is one of them. However, from what we already know there will be some features left out of the aging tablet, but we do have another concern. We have seen in the past that when a new version of iOS is released and installed on older supported Apple iPhones or tablets, there are always one or two issues.

iPad 2 slower on iOS 8 beta 4 — We have come across a video where someone has installed the latest version of iOS 8 onto their iPad 2, and it would seem that it is now slower than when it had been running with iOS 7.

Let’s remember, this is still beta 4, but the video author commented in YouTube comments stating, “The iPad 2 is slower on iOS 8 beta 4, but still usable. It will lag in animations a little and hopefully this is fixed in beta 5.”

We can see the guy in the video making various changes to settings in order to get the fourth beta to work better on the iPad 2nd generation, such as turning off features that are known to make older iPads lag.

iOS 8 beta 4 was released Monday just gone and with it has come with various fixes, which you can see for yourself here. We do hope to hear from our developer soon once he has had a chance to see what improvements have been made, and what problems still exist with the latest beta.

In the meantime we hope you enjoy the video and please let us know if you have suffered from any lag issues with beta 4.
