IP67 rated Motorola Defy+ revealed

Late last year we told you about the advertisements that were banned for the Motorola Defy, which were accused of misleading consumers into believing they could accidently drop the handset and all would be well. Today the IP 67 rated Motorola Defy+ has been revealed that is made of sturdier stuff.

The company has certainly been busy recently with the Defy range with the recent reveal of the Mini, and has also revealed new colors of the RAZR for Verizon customers. But the company has teamed up with JCB to create the limited edition Motorola Defy+ JCB, and according to TechRadar is IP67 certified.

It will come protected in a patented visco-elastic protective sleeve, which is water resistant, scratch resistant and dust proof. It has the all important Gorilla Glass protecting the 3.7-inch touchscreen, and will be ideal for people working in the outdoors such as builders and other trades people.

Some of the other neat features of the device include the preloaded decibel meter, unit converter, decibel meter, theodolite, torch, spirit level, calculator, and even hardware store locater apps. The handset will come running Android 2.3 Gingerbread on a 1GHz processor. This has been tuned to run 25 percent quicker to provide a better web browsing and multi tasking experience, say Motorola.

Camera wise it has a five megapixel unit with auto focus, digital zoom, and flash. It comes with only 2GB of on-board storage that is expandable via the microSD slot, and even comes with a 2GB card. You will also get a car charger and is available now in the UK for £259.99.
