iOS 9.1 public release closer now Beta 2 goes live

It was last Friday when we predicted that Apple would release iOS 9.1 beta 2 to developers on Wednesday, 23 September, and so it comes as no shock that the second beta is now live. So let’s take a look to see what has been included in this new version.

While we do not know the iOS 9.1 public release date, we do know it has taken a step closer now that beta 2 has gone live. However, we have a feeling that the public should get their hands on the first major iOS 9 update next month.

Included in this new version for devs is several stability fixes, along with a few enhancements to help increase performance. Apple has not gone into detail, although you have to wonder if they will fix some of these problems that iOS 9.01 did not address?

However, the biggest feature of iOS 9.1 beta 2 build number 13B5119e is the new emoji characters. Ok, so we know that this will not appeal to a huge percentage of iOS users. But Apple is trying to appeal to the more social users out there.

We have also noticed a new Messages option, which now allows you to disable contact photos in Settings. So what else would you like to see Apple address once iOS 9.1 is finally released to the public?
