iOS 8 Split Screen Multitasking for iPad delayed

With WWDC 2014 just a few days away more details were bound to come to light and it isn’t always good news. While we already knew that iOS 8 was to take more of a back seat because of a greater emphasis on Mac OS X 10.10, we can still look forward to seeing some of the new iOS 8 features, although one will be missing from the event.

Each year at WWDC, Apple highlights some of the more popular features of its next iOS update, and Split Screen Multitasking would certainly count as one of them. We cannot be certain why there is a delay on this feature, although it could have something to do with some of the iOS 8 team having to work on OS X 10.10 in order to get it nearer completion.

Ok, so it might not be such a huge deal to see iOS 8 Split Screen Multitasking delayed, but it will still be ready in time for when the mobile OS is released, although seeing as though it will be around the same time as the iPhone 6 release, we won’t get to see it running on the iPad Air 2.

However, we can still see it running on other iPad versions because we know that Split Screen Multitasking is more for the iPad than iPhone, as it allows you to run more than one app at a time.

This feature has been around on some Android devices for years, and is just another reason why some people stay away from iOS because it always seems to be late to the party. Having said that, this isn’t always the fact and you have to remember that iOS is often regarded as a more stable mobile operating system.

Would you have liked to see iOS 8 Split Screen Multitasking at WWDC 2014 this Monday?
