iOS 8.1 beta release notes live, Camera Roll back

It’s certainly been a testing time for Apple, what with the release of iOS 8 worse than last years update in terms of problems, but also having to manage the negative impact of the iPhone 6 bending videos appearing online. However, Apple is doing its best to get on top of the former issue and has now made iOS 8.1 beta live and ready for download.

We can see a number of tweaks, improvements and changes while looking through the iOS 8.1 beta release notes, with one of the biggest talking points seeing the Camera Roll back. We cannot be certain if it will be just like last time, or if they have just renamed Recently Added, meaning Camera Roll could also show photos taken from the last 30 days.

The build number for this beta update is 12B401, and we also know that Apple is already hard at work fast-tracking iOS 8.2 and 8.3, which one would presume will be released in tandem with the new Apple TV and Watch products early next year.

As for the iOS 8.1 public release, there is a possibility that this could be ready to download later this month once Apple release the new iPad Air and mini, along with Yosemite, as it will help to tie the knot between them far better than the current version of Apple’s mobile operating system.

It would take far too much time to try and list some of the other notable changes within iOS 8.1 beta, and so you should read the full release notes here.

I remember the very same issues back when Mac OS 8 was in development! As I remember it, not only did Copeland not go live but the version of Mac OS 8 that did go live wasn’t really ‘good’ until 8.1 and wasn’t ‘insanely great’ until 8.5/8.6. I still have t-shirts in the compressed little rectangular cubes.
