iOS 7 iMessage widespread problems

If you thought the iOS 7 iMessage problems you are experiencing on iPhone 4S, 5 or even the newer iPhone 5S and 5C were localized, then you couldn’t be more wrong. It is now obvious that problems sending messages through Apple’s iMessage in iOS 7 are widespread and Product Reviews readers have been searching for a fix to these issues.

In a nutshell, when some people have been trying to send a message it defaults to a traditional text message in green rather than sending through iOS 7’s iMessage app in blue. This is something that has been causing problems for thousands of users, and you only need to take a quick look at the official discussion forums to see how widespread this problem is for iPhone users.

One user stated, “I keep trying to send a message and it goes blue, then turns green after a little while with a message saying Sent as Text Message. This shouldn’t happen as I either have AT&T LTE 4G or my network settings work just fine”.

Another commenter added, “These iOS 7 iMessage problems has been happening for a few days now and still happen after updating to iOS 7.0.2. I know Apple explained they will be issuing a fix soon, but that couldn’t come soon enough”.

If you have been forced to send normal texts after iOS 7 iMessage stopped working, then there is a simple fix you can use right now. After finding iOS 7 iMessage not working on our iPhone 5 and a big problem since we don’t have unlimited texts, we decided to look for a solution.

Fix for iMessage problems on iOS 7.0.2 — this fix worked for a number of users, but try at your own risk. You can try disabling iMessage and then reset-networking settings from the General then Reset tabs. Once you have done this, you then turn iMessage back on and should find everything working again.

You can expect to see an iOS 7.0.3 update very soon, so feel free to leave your wish list for fixes you want to see in that update. We already heard about a number of iOS 7 problems hitting different versions of iPad shortly after it launched, but is the iMessage issue the only one for you?
