iOS 7 home screen icons with unified features divulged

Having already found out that iOS 7 could come with a simpler, flatter design, it seems a new image showing the new iOS 7 home screen icons could be the real deal. However, as always we have to be skeptical, so it’s best to keep an open mind. If we can believe what we are seeing, then the icons will come with unified features, and for good reason.

From what is being discussed over on iDownloadBlog, who came across the supposed iOS 7 home screen, they suggest that the current stock apps are a little messy because it looks as though they were designed by different teams, which is why they don’t look unified.

However, with Jony Ive now in charge it’s clear that he wants things to flow, and so the new home screen should look more uniform now. This means that they will not be mixed with glossy and non-glossy features, which up until now we haven’t paid that much attention to, but now we think of it, it’s very true.

A good way to see if this is the real deal is by taking a close look at the new WWDC iOS app, just to see if there are any clues as to the design of iOS 7. We can already see that the app has a flat design, so could point to how the rest of iOS 7 will be.

Let’s hope that it’s not as flat as the WWDC 2013 iOS app, as it looks a little too basic. Okay, so we know that iOS 7 needs to be a far improvement over iOS 6, which has had a host of problems, but not certain the simplistic route is the way to go. Again, we have to remind ourselves that this is based on a rumor, and so we should not pass judgment until next Monday.
