iOS 7 features checklist before WWDC 2013

With there being an abundance of blogs as well as a live stream of the WWDC 2013 keynote in a few hours on Apple TV, you are now poised to see just what Apple has in store for us this year. We already know for certain that iOS 7 and Mac OS X 10.9 will be unveiled, but apart from that it’s all guesswork.

Having already looked at a few ideas in regards to Mac OS X 10.9, we thought we would go over the iOS 7 features checklist before WWDC 2013 gets underway. Even before we get going it’s clear to see that Apple could be going with a cleaner look, well if the banner above is anything to go by?

What can we expect from iOS 7? As we said above, we can expect to see a flatter design, but we hope to see some improvements made to the home screen icons, as they don’t flow as well as they should. Over the years there have been rumors regarding improved home screen features, such as being able to make several settings changes just by one action, which could be achieved by swiping down to reveal some new feature settings.

Improved multitasking is expected as well, although this has been expected for a couple of years now. This feature is currently limited, and so being able to do far more would be very welcome indeed, although this could come at a cost to the battery.

Having said that, if iOS 7 does have a flat design, then surely this would consume less battery life? Something else that has been highly rumored is further improvements to Apple Maps, and while this isn’t a major part of the overall mobile OS, it’s something that Apple is desperate to get right.

Last year Apple introduced hundreds of new features to iOS 6, although we only really knew of a handful of them. We expect Apple to list about 6 or so of the new iOS 7 features today, let’s just hope that we are not disappointed.

WWDC a surprise for 2013 — In previous years we had a pretty good idea of what to expect from the new iOS, but this year is very different because the secrets have been well guarded, and so we honestly do not know what to expect.
