iOS 7 beta 7 release leaves 2 weeks for GM

The BGR report last week in regard to iOS 7 beta 7 seeing a release date ended up being false, although the hope of another beta was in good faith and something we hope comes to fruition this coming week.

While it is still very possible iOS 7 Gold Master will be the next software update for developers around September 10, as widely reported, this date just seems too far away for us to believe Apple wouldn’t offer a new download much sooner.

There is plenty of time for iOS 7 beta 7 to release this Monday or Tuesday, and then let developers get hands-on with the Gold Master before Apple’s new iPhone expected to be revealed in the first half of September. It is true that Apple will be testing improvements behind the scenes, but equally we’d hope developers get a chance to see those bug fixes one more time before an iOS 7 Gold Master arrives.

When we touched on the rumors of last week and how they failed to happen, our article and others continued to receive comments detailing apps crashing in iOS 7 beta 6 on iPhone 5, 4S and 4. Some problems are still expected in the betas, but considering how close we are to a public launch hearing native apps like Safari crashing is not good.

We reached out to our in-house app developer in regard to PR’s apps and how well iOS 7 beta 6 is performing, and overall they’re impressed but issues remain with different settings. Crashing with Messages happens at certain points even with the latest update.

Do you think Apple should release iOS 7 beta 7 next week, which would be in time for a Gold Master release date 2 weeks later?

You can see the new YouTube app given a hands-on in iOS 7 in an earlier article, or see a video we embedded below that was uploaded to YouTube in the last day and showcases some of the new features on offer thanks to a walkthrough.
