We have already seen how the app market has grown over the past few years for both Android and iOS, but we are expected to see an even bigger growth in the coming years. iOS 6 will soon be a distant memory even though it is a year old, although iOS 7 will not share the same fate.
Apple has said iOS 7 is the groundwork for something bigger, and as such is seen as a new direction for Apple and their iOS devices. With this in mind we are seeing plenty of articles looking at how there will be an iOS 7 apps boom because of this new beginning, as app developers want to get in on the action.
You may think the look of iOS 7 is boring because of its flatter appearance, but this has been done because of its fresh start, and so developers will want to start anew as well. One of the main reasons for this is because the old iOS was more time consuming for devs because of having to add a bit more polish to their apps, but this will not be the case with iOS 7 because of its simplistic look, which makes is more accessible.
Apple has shown developers how things are done with the stock apps built into iOS 7, and so they should be able to use this as a basis to come up with their own fresh apps. However, that is if current devs wish to spend money on overhauling their current apps. Having said that, if this is the new direction then app developers will have to react.
It is not just Apple and iOS 7 that will benefit from a boom, because Google Glass is considered to be the next biggest tech boom. We can already foresee a future where consumers and enterprise users will make use of this latest hands-free technology.
While we have only seen this eyewear on the faces of a select few, it will not be long before we see the hard work of devs pay off and bring with it a host of applications to help make Google Glass more than the sum of its parts.
An interesting article has been looking more into Google Glass and they believe one profession that could make use of this new technology is the medical profession — just imagine a surgeon being able to use Google Glass in an operating room?
Do you believe that Google Glass will be the next big thing, and if so what other uses will this technology have in the future?
