iOS 5 release imminent as carriers begin final testing

A couple of days ago we told you that staff from Apple Stores had begun training for iOS 5, and is being carried out via an internal application. Now today we have news that the iOS 5 release is imminent as carriers begin final testing.

Carriers around the world have begun their own versions of the training process according to 9 To 5 Mac. Sources are claiming the training is similar to what occurred before last year’s iOS 4 release that came alongside the iPhone 4. The major carriers support divisions are also being trained on iCloud as well.

Apple is pushing both iOS 5 and iCloud as integrated products as many of the features interact with each other. All the training aids have been developed with the help of Apple, and they include PDF and video based instructions. Now that the carriers are undergoing training it can’t be much longer before we hear something from Apple about it.

Also it is reported that Apple has released almost final builds of iOS 5 for final testing, and is newer than the betas given to developers and includes some new features. A source who claims to be testing the build said FaceTime via 3G is now active, and testers have been told that testing of this feature is a high priority.

It is not known yet if this feature will be available in the final build that is released to users. Other new features being tested include the Nuance Dictation speech to text feature. This works almost the same as the version that can be found on the Android OS, and the source said it is quick and accurate to use.

If the iOS 5 software is almost ready for release we may be also about to hear about the iPhone 5 that has reportedly already started production. We spoke earlier today that the iPhone 5 running the new operating system could see a leap in Apple TV sales. iOS devices will be integrated like never before with the new software and opens up lots of possibilities for users.
