iOS 5 beta hints at two new iPad models

A couple of days ago Apple showed off their upcoming software update iOS 5. While the company this year didn’t show off any new hardware at the WWDC event, it has been found that the iOS 5 beta hints at two new iPad models.

Hidden in the code of the beta are references to iPad3,1 and iPad3,2 according to Richard Wordsworth of T3.com. With no new iPhone announced by CEO Steve Jobs a couple of days ago, further strengthened previous rumors of an iPhone 5 launch in the fall and could coincide with the expected release of iOS 5.

We have had talk of an iPad 3 being released later this year but these codes add more weight to the rumors. But if Apple were to launch a new iPad just a few months after the last release, might upset many owners of the device.

Maybe Apple is planning on launching a cheaper alternative to the current model. The iOS 5 beta also shows no reference to the iPod Touch which usually gets a refresh in September, and could mean Apple are saving the stage for the iPhone 5. But before references found in iOS software hasn’t led to any product actually seeing the light of day.

Do you think we will see another iPad model this year?
