iOS 4.2 Beta download for iPhone, iPod touch, iPad

We reported to you at the beginning of the month that Steve Jobs announced that Apple were going to release iOS 4.2 in November. Now Apple has just released the first iOS 4.2 beta for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad.

Taimur Asad of Redmond Pie is reporting in an article that this is like any other iOS beta, only developers who are members of the Enterprise Program or the iPhone Developer Standard will have access to the beta.

The software will be good news for iPad owners who will get Multitasking for the first time. Other new features of the upcoming iOS include AirPrint Wireless Printing, Folders, Game Center, Printing, Universal Inbox in Mail, and more.

AirTunes has been renamed to AirPlay, as the new service will support video as well as music. AirPlay will now pop up as a dialog box as soon as your device discovers Apple TV or AirPort Express on your Wi-Fi network, and then allows content to be streamed directly to it.
