Intriguing MacBook Pro rumors, 2011 refresh may include Air

The moment you buy a new laptop you will see an update to your model, this always seems the case with most buyers, but there is no point waiting when technology is moving faster than ever, unless you know an update is days away.

Today we have heard some intriguing MacBook Pro rumors for the 2011 refresh, which also point to a possible Apple MacBook Air refresh. Having just bought a new MacBook Air, this comes as a surprise. The current range of MacBook Air’s are selling very well, and have not slowed down even with processors that have been kind-of static.

Some buyers are waiting for some “Sandy Bridge” silicon in their MacBook Pro or Air, and thanks to the recent news from Intel, about the resuming of regular shipments; their wait may soon be over. In light of this, CNet ask the question, will Apple update the MacBook Pro to include their latest Intel chips?

We expect the wait will be very short, you only need to look at the current generation of MacBook Pro and how the specs got upgraded not long after Core i7 and i5 were available. You should expect the MacBook Pro to get a refresh sooner rather than later in 2011.

CNET also look at the next chips, after Sandy Bridge. One analyst explains that the code name is “Ivy Bridge”, and the MacBook Air will not see this improvement until 2012. Read more on that here.
